Within the project, CEA‑List, located in Paris‑Saclay, focuses on digital instrumentation and advanced diagnostic technologies. Their work enhances the reliability and performance of both personal and platform protection systems.
CEA’s Role in ECOBALLIFE: Non‑Destructive Testing and Advanced Diagnostics
CEA‑List applies non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods to evaluate the integrity and performance of protection materials. They lead the work package dedicated to Assessment and Validation, which addresses structure testing, deformation estimation, and damage detection.
Furthermore, CEA supports several technical work packages. They provide materials characterisation, quality control, and test system design. These activities help the consortium understand structural behaviour and wave propagation within protective systems.
Additionally, CEA’s mission is to develop smarter diagnostic tools. These tools enable continuous monitoring and enhance resilience across all protective solutions.
High‑Impact Innovation with Industrial Reach
CEA brings strong innovation capacity to ECOBALLIFE. They file around 30 patents per year, and they collaborate with more than 50 industrial partners. Consequently, they ensure that research outputs are relevant, scalable, and ready for industrial uptake.
