CITEVE Strengthens Its Role in Defence and Safety Innovation

CITEVE demonstrated its leadership in defence and safety technologies by participating in Segurex 2025, Army Day 2025, and A+A 2025. These events showcased the Centre’s commitment to innovation and collaboration while actively promoting ECOBALLIFE as a sustainable solution for ballistic protection.

CITEVE at Segurex 2025: Driving Technological Sovereignty

From October 21 to 23, CITEVE joined the idD Portugal Defence exhibition area at Segurex 2025 in Lisbon. The event gathered companies, public institutions, and research entities to present advanced solutions for protection and emergency response. CITEVE highlighted ECOBALLIFE as a key innovation combining eco-design principles with high-performance ballistic protection. Moreover, the visit of the Minister of National Defence, Nuno Melo, reinforced the importance of cooperation to strengthen Portugal’s technological sovereignty.

CITEVE at Army Day: Modernising Military Capabilities

At the same time, CITEVE participated in Army Day 2025 in Viseu, celebrating the history and future of the Portuguese Armed Forces. During the Army Expo, CITEVE showcased R&D-based solutions, including ECOBALLIFE, which supports modernisation and operational effectiveness. Furthermore, the Chief of Staff of the Portuguese Army, General Eduardo Mendes Ferrão, visited exhibitors and acknowledged the relevance of advanced technologies for defence readiness.

A+A 2025 promotes Sustainability and Smart Protection

Beyond Portugal, CITEVE extended its influence internationally at A+A 2025 in Düsseldorf from November 4 to 7. This global trade fair focused on safety, protection, and health at work, emphasizing sustainability and digital transformation. CITEVE presented ECOBALLIFE as an example of circular economy principles applied to ballistic protection. Additionally, the project aligns with trends such as smart protective clothing and AI-driven occupational safety, reinforcing CITEVE’s commitment to innovation and ecological responsibility.

Through these strategic engagements, CITEVE confirmed its position as a key partner in defence and safety. ECOBALLIFE remains central to this mission, bridging sustainability with high-performance protection for future challenges.
