In the ECOBALLIFE project, TECNALIA will contribute with knowledge and expertise in materials processing and their characterisation (including microwaves) with conventional and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques to carry out activities focused on: a) the research on new and recycled polymers and ceramics manufactured by conventional and net-shape manufacturing processes, b) improvement of polymer-ceramic-metal bonding, c) Functional printing technologies for the systems ageing evaluation.

CITEVE’s mission is to support the development of technical and technological capabilities of the textile and clothing industries, by fostering and disseminating innovation, promoting quality improvement, and providing instrumental support to the definition of industrial policies for the sector.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, CITEVE will focus on i) Design, eco-design and simulation, ii) Development of materials and proofs of concept, iii) Characterization and validation techniques, iv) Recyclability and LCA, and v) Dissemination, communication and training.
Miilux Ballistic Steel Service Centre offers specialized services globally, providing solutions to armoured vehicle manufacturers, shooting ranges, and a broad spectrum of industries in the protection equipment sector.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, Miilux will provide ballistic steels for optimized ballistic metal alloys for: a) high performance metallurgical bond to MMCs and b) sandwich structures for STANAG level 4, 5 & 6 dynamic passive armours.
Exote is a Finnish manufacturer that specializes in R&D and production of customized advanced materials for Industrial and Defence Applications. It scales and produce new material technology in order to create wear and impact resistant products without critical raw materials.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, EXOTE will research on new and recycled Metal Matrix Composites (MMC) to be used as a hard layer on the strike face of the protection systems, specially the optimization of Add-on armours with: a) metallurgical bond between hard MMC face and protection steel and b) Functionally Graded structures against STANAG level 5 & 6 threats.

FYC is a company that manufactures and supplies composite products for the defense and security sector. Their products are designed to protect people, vehicles and other applications from various threats. They mainly serve public authorities, but they also offer some products that can be customized to meet individual customer needs.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, FYC will focus on personal protection equipment design and improvement through conventional hot consolidation of fibre reinforced composites, with special focus on new and more ecological materials.
Adequately addressing ethical, legal and social issues is currently a high priority in R&D funded by the European Commission and in the private sector. To meet this need, the Plus Ethics team has developed an innovative model of support for public and private institutions based on research, management and training concerning the ethical, privacy and legal aspects of R&D.
Petroceramics proposes smart solutions to simplify complex systems and processes. They believes that only a deep knowledge and understanding of materials and technology and focusing on the truly important and meaningful parameters will lead to innovation.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, Petroceramics will research new and recycled ceramic materials to be used in lighter personal and platform protection systems under different novel approaches: a) technologies to produce pre-stressed ceramics with enhanced ballistic performance to be used in high protection level add-on armours and b) ceramic reinforcement of polymeric composites to achieve high performance ballistic hard plates.
OLMAR S.A. is a leading company in the design and manufacture of autoclaves, ovens, steam generators and all kind of pressure vessels.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, OLMAR will incorporate the autoclave processing for the manufacturing of ballistic and blasting components based on fibre reinforced composites and the integration of multi-material protection systems for both platform and dismounted soldier. This approach will allow a reduction in costs and delivery time of the new protection systems and improve the bonding between different layers.

In the ECOBALLIFE project, Everythink will be responsible of the proposal of novel eco-designs to incorporate emerging materials and processes in the solutions for personal and platform protection systems, focusing on the selection of more environmentally friendly materials/processes. The optimisation of the developed designs will be performed according to the results obtained from numerical modelling and simulation of ballistic and blasting behaviour.
Sasia is a company that recycles pre and post consumer textile waste into high-quality and sustainable textile fibers. Their mission is to innovate and close the production cycle of the textile industry, while respecting the environment and their values of ethics, trust, rigor, and quality.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, Sasia will study the mechanical recycling of ballistic fibres towards the obtention of novel fibres and their evaluation to define different applications for the recycled fibres (novel yarns, non-woven textile structures, woven textiles, knits and intermediate structures for composites production through 3D printing).

BOGGES is a company focused on research, development, testing and expertise in the field of blast and ballistic protection.
In the ECOBALLIFE project, Bogges will perform specific testing required for the development of new solutions and the evaluation of additional data necessary for the optimisation of numerical tools, such as dynamic stress-strain evaluation of the new materials. Ballistic investigations, such as Depth of Penetration (DoP) tests, will be carried out to evaluate the efficiency of new solutions or residual projectile energies.
